to the global SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the 2021 workshop will be completely online. The workshop will consist of the Keynote speakers, Scientific Course and last year&#8217;s students oral and poster presentations. Hence, no new submissions will be considered. All oral and poster student participants will be contacted by e-mail. It will be hosted by the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV\/EHU). There will be a short course on <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.bcamath.org\/iwsm2021\/course\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>&#8220;Bayesian spatio-temporal modeling&#8221;<\/em><\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/becarioprecario.github.io\/\">Virgilio G\u00f3mez Rubio<\/a> on July 21st. <br \/><br \/>The IWSM is one of the major activities of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.statmod.org\/?LMCL=Smty9J&amp;LMCL=cTUKI1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Statistical Modelling Society<\/a>, founded with the purpose of promoting and encouraging statistical modelling in its widest sense, involving both academic and professional statisticians and data analysts. Since its first edition, the spirit of the workshop has always been to focus on problems motivated by real-life data and on solutions that make novel contributions to the subject.<br \/><br \/>The atmosphere of the workshops is friendly and supportive, with no parallel sessions, with the aim of stimulating the exchange of ideas and experiences related to statistical modelling. As a sign of positive feedback, the IWSMs report many returning participants.<br \/><br \/>Papers focusing on applications with important substantive implications as well as methodological issues are welcome.
